To give a large boulder a larger acceleration, you would need to apply a greater force to overcome the boulder's inertia. Increasing the force applied to the boulder by pushing, pulling, or using a mechanical device capable of exerting more force would result in a larger acceleration.
You can use a lever by placing a long rod under the boulder and pushing down on the opposite end with a force greater than the weight of the boulder. Alternatively, you could also use a pulley system to redirect your force and help lift the boulder. Both of these simple machines can make moving a boulder more manageable.

To arrange the boulders in Seafloor Cavern in Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, you need to push the two boulders into the holes to block the water flow. Start by pushing the boulder closest to the water source into the left hole, then push the boulder above it into the right hole. This will redirect the water flow and allow you to progress through the cavern.
