Robert Cecil found guy Fawkes in the cellar. Robert Cecil was the Kings advisor, and hated catholics.
I believe that Guy Fawkes was innocent as King James had a secretary(Robert Cecil) and sometimes he would lend him the key to the tower where all the gun powder was stored. It was locked all the time, so Guy Fawkes couldn't have got in because he was catholic and at this point Catholics were disliked because the king was protestant, also Cecil hated catholics very much and wanted to get rid of them so this would be the perfect plan. As well people would notice if there were 36 massive barrels went missing. Cecil also wanted to warn catholics by this execution of Guy Fawkes so that they would not mess with him or anyone else in England because he literally detested Catholics.
