The executive branch (the President, cabinet, and regulatory agencies)
Executive branch
Assuming you're referring to the branches of government in the U.S.A., there are three of them. The Executive Branch includes the Office of the President and an enormous array of federal agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Homeland Security, and many, many more. These federal agencies all answer (at least theoretically) to the Office of President, and collectively they are considered all part of the Executive Branch. The Legislative Branch includes the the Senate and the House of Representatives. There are a small number of agencies that are also part of the Legislative Branch, such as the Government Accountability Office, which, though it is a government agency, answers to the House of Representatives rather than the Office of the President. The Judicial Branch includes the Supreme Court and the Federal Court System, which includes federal judges and their support staff.
The executive branch of government is an organization that is best represented with the President at the top. The executive departments and individual federal agencies would be, in that order, after the President.
Laws are enforced by the Executive Branch, through its various agencies. Agencies like the FBI, U.S Marshals Service, DEA, and ATF all fall under the Executive Branch of government.
The Federal Legislative Branch is the law making branch of government. It comprises the House of Representatives, the Senate as well as agencies that support Congress.

The federal government is three branches. The legislative branch is the Congress, the executive branch is the President and the agencies that support him. Finally, the judicial branch is the Supreme Court and other federal courts.
The majority of federal agencies are created and operate under the Executive Branch.

The federal government is three branches. The legislative branch is the Congress, the executive branch is the President and the agencies that support him. Finally, the judicial branch is the Supreme Court and other federal courts.
(in the US) Law enforcement agencies are not even a part of the court system. Law enforcement agencies are part of the EXECUTIVE BRANCH of the government. The court system is part of the JUDICIAL BRANCH of government.
The Executive Branch of government may consist of many agencies but the Branch itself is only one of three branches of the government. The other two branches of government are the Executive Branch and the Judicial Branch.
It is the EXECUTIVE Branch of government that enforces the laws.
ThreeExecutive Branch The executive branch of the government is responsible for enforcing the laws of the land. The president, vice president, department heads (cabinet members), and heads of independent agencies carry out this mission.Judicial Branch Courts decide arguments about the meaning of laws and how they are applied. They also decide if laws violate the Constitution-this is known as judicial review, and it is how federal courts provide checks and balances on the legislative and executive branches.Legislative Branch Article I of the Constitution establishes the legislative or law making branch of government. It has a two-branch Congress-the Senate and the House of Representatives-and agencies that support Congress.
