The ratification of the articles of confederation occurred on March 1, 1781. The Annapolis Convention occurred on September 11, 1786.
The Constitutional Convention was a direct result of the Annapolis Convention of 1786. Due to lack of authority and participation, it was recommended to Congress to hold a larger convention in Philadelphia in May of the following year.
The delegates at the Annapolis Convention declared slavery to be unconstitutional.
The reality is the convention never got started. Only 5 of the states were represented by just 12 delegates. That wasn't nearly enough representation to really get any business done.
The Annapolis Convention was held in the city Annapolis, MD therefore they called it the Annapolis Convention.
