If the judicial branch makes a ruling that the legislature does not agree with, they can pass a law rectifying it, so long as that law does not violate the Constitution.
For example, if a court rules that riding a bicycle in the park does not violate a "no vehicles in the park" law, but the legislature wants bicycles to be prohibited in the park, they can pass a new law that specifically says "no bicycles in the park."
The Legislative Branch proposes amendments to overturn court decisions. They may also impeach Supreme Court Justices (House of Representatvies), and hold an impeachment trial (Senate). This "check" ensures that the judicial branch is not too powerful.
