The Democratic-Republican Party
The Anti-Federalists party became the Democratic-Republican Party.
The first two parties were the federalist and anti-federalist party
The Democratic-Republican Party was originally created by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. It was founded in response to opposition to the Federalist Party.
John Adams was the first president with a political party. He was a federalist. Contrary to popular belief, George Washington had no political party though many people consider him a federalist. He preached about the dangers of political parties and how they'll divide the nation throughout his entire presidency. Look where we are now!
He was a Democratic-republican. Jefferson and Madison created the Democratic Republican Party to oppose the Federalist Party.
He was part of the Federalist party, which was like today's Republican party (as opposed to the Republican party, which was like today's Democratic party).
