A broke fuel line can cause a 1995 Beretta to leak fuel into air filter assembly. An exhaust leak can also cause this issue.
If the casing is spilt a filter will leak an incorrectly installed filter will also leak.
You could strip the threads and cause a leak very easily.
The starter should be tight! It can cause an oil leak if it hits the oil filter and makes a hole in it (oil filter is like a coke can). If your starter is moving you must first tighten it down it's two bolts.
Headgasket!
The old oil filter gasket might still be stuck on the engine block. Having the two gaskets in place will not allow the filter to seat correctly causing a leak.
old rubber gasket stuck to block or to much oil pressure regulated by spring above oil filter Filter not tight, hole in filter,....
Oil filter installed incorrectly as in too tight, too loose, the gasket was not oiled prior to installation, or the old filter gasket was left on. It can also be a valve cover gasket leaking and running down by the filter. Replace the oil filter and oil the gasket and tighten 3/4 turn after it makes contact with the mounting surface. If the leak persists if is not the filter.
yes it just happened to me
First make sure it is not the filter that is leaking. Remove the old filter and install a new filter that is the correct one. Apply oil to the gasket and tighten exactly 3/4 turn after it makes contact with the mounting surface. Tighten any moreor any less and it may leak. If that is not the problem, then I would suspect the valve cover gasket may be leaking. Another possiblility is a leaking oil pressure sending unit.
You may have left the old gasket from the filter you removed in place. You may have not oiled the gasket on the new filter before installing it. The filter may be too tight or too loose. Tighten 3/4 turn after making contact with the mounting surface, no more or no less. Any of these will cause a leak.
The gas is probably not leaking into the filter but the engine. It's caused by a broken diaphragm on the fuel pressure regulator. Replace regulator
