If its a 5 spd. it will interchange with no problem at all. 1996 was the first year for the New Venture 5 spd trans which I think GM used in 4cyl. S10's up until 2003. I'm not to sure about the automatic though. You could call a junk yard to be sure. They always keep interchange manuals handy.
The answer depends on3 factors. Automatic or manual, 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder, and 2 or 4 wheel drive. If both are 6 cylinder and automatic and two wheel drive, then the answer is yes. The blazer was only available with a 6 cylinder motor. The truck could be equipped with either.
How do you change a Master Cylinder and hydraulic clutch line for a 1998 Chevy S10?
The switch is on the left sie of the transmission just in front of the speed sensor for a manual transmission.
I would think so, a stock transmission for the 1998 S-10 is the New Venture 1500.
The transmission must be removed, and put back in, not replaced.
