Not at all. You can fit 15-18" rims. 19" or 20" rims might fit if you get extremely low profile tires, which cost more, but they will still rub your wheel wells when you go over bumps, and make your mileage and spedometer incorrect. 22in rims are out of the question unless you raise the car which will hurt performance, as well as cost a lot of money, not to mention look ridiculous.
I assume you are young, and I strongly advise that you are better off saving the $2,000 it would end up costing for better things, like replacing the alternator, belts, hoses, spark plugs and air filter. Also keep an eye on your wheel bearings since they are known to go bad in '96 Maximas.
I own a 2001 maxima and use 1996 weels for the winter. I guess you can use 1995 to 2003 weels.
Yes, certainly 22in rims will fit. I have 22in rims currently on my 1999 Jag VDP and they look astonishing. I get lots of compliments and I may be the only person in the nation with a 99 VDP on 22's. Haven't seen any others yet... I tried 2 attach pics but to no avail... have to find me on facebook Shaun Bowman aka 41510Bo aka Cali aka Shizz aka Red aka Go Getta holla
yes they will, All you have to do is get a 3 inch strut lift. Go with a 255/30 series tire.
I think just 14 in. That's what the factory ones are, i don't know if you can go bigger.
The answer is this: What's the point? To look cool? Are you going to upgrade your braking system to compensate for the additional rotational force created by the larger wheels? If not, don't bother. You could have the factory wheels polished to a high lustre instead. This will look good and also set you apart since EVERYONE has "custom" wheels on their car. Either way, the braking system is the part of this equation you need to consider most of all. Go to maxima.org. Lots of info there. In answer to your question, yes, you can put 19" rims on your maxima, but you may have issues with your tires rubbing when going over bumps. Also, maxima's have a HUGE gap between the wheels and fender. This becomes more noticeable with larger rims and will make your car look like a 4x4 truck. From my experience, maxima's look best with 17" - 18" rims. Over 18" and you may have fitment issues. My advice (I have a 1995 Maxima on 17" rims): 1) First get some quality lowering springs. They cost about $180 for Tein H-techs or H&R sport springs. I highly recommend those two models. I have the Tein H-techs on my car. These give you reasonable ride comfort and lower your car about 1.6". Trust me, you will look like a 4x4 if you don't drop your car a little before getting bigger rims. 2) Get some 17" or 18" rims. Keep your rim width between 7 and 7.5 inches. If you go wider, you may have issues with the tires rubbing against the fenders over bumps. Make sure you get the right "offset" for those rims! If the offset is incorrect, you may be able to get "spacers" to make them fit correctly. 3) Get your car realigned after you get your rims and springs on. you can fit 20s easily. but with possible probs with cv joints 19s are an odd number though why 19s?
Both are good but if you want low prices then go for maxima .
I would go with rims that are close to the same size of the tires.
There are various ways to get good deals for rims. One way is to look on ebay for replica rims. Beware of the quality of cheap rims though. Or you could go for some decent second hand rims.
It will affect the speedometer. For example, bigger rims will make you go faster than what the speedometer is actually reading. If it say's 50mph with regular rims, then with larger rims you will be going faster.
18 inch rims are the max although you can go bigger with modifications.
You can find reliable rims and tires at Les Schwab. Another good way to read about chrome rims is in car magazines and online at www.victoriatire.com.
the two numbers that go into 96 are i dont know lol
