Hey Leonard, Either it is low on coolant or the sensor needs to be cleaned. GoodluckJoe Also it could be a leaking intake gasket. To check for this look at your oil cap and see if it is white and also checkjust below the valve covers to see if there is any coolent and or oil on the sides of the engine the light will come on when, rad. fluid is low due to a leak, )many causes.) due to a bad hose ,loose clamp,a leaking water pump, or you are loosing fluid into your engine. check you oil and look for rad coolant fluid in it. you may have a blown head gasket. i just went through the same thing with the only exception being when i did notice the temp gauge went up past the normal running range i immediatly pulled over waited for the motor to cool down. When the teardown was completed we found not only was the intake leaking but i had a blown head gasket as well, best of luck to you. With the closed pressurized systems, the coolant can boil off if the gasket on the radiator cap gets old and hard. Replacing the cap is inexpensive. If it doesn't solve the problem then further investigation is needed.
You are OVERHEATING. You most likely have an intake or Head gasket problem.
The coolant level sensor in the coolant reservoir detects the coolant level is low. The coolant system must have a leak in it somewhere. Have a trusted mechanic diagnose it soon before you do damage to the engine.
Check the engine coolant... Is it full? yes coolant level is full
Good Chance this is caused by a faulty O2 Sensor. I had the engine light stuck on in my 2002 Montana and replaced rear O2 sensor and it turned it off.
check coolant level in overflow reservoir
1) You actually have a low coolant level. Top off your radiator, bleed out the air in the system, and check the LOW COOLANT light again. 2) The coolant level sensor, located on the coolant recovery tank, has gone bad or became disconnected. Check to see if it is connected. If it is disconnected, plug it in and check for the LOW COOLANT light. If it IS connected, disconnect it and verify that the LOW COOLANT light is still on. While you're in there, check the underside of the oil and radiator caps for sludging or a milky substance which may indicate the intake manifold gasket failure common to these vans equipped with the 3.4L engine.
both lights, the check engine and the low coolant light need to be reset and only a GM dealership can do that because they are the only ones that have the codes
In order to change the brake light, check your manual for directions. You will need to remove the cover and replace the burnt out bulb.
