have you checked your FUEL FILTER lately? Or the fuel pump may be going out. Can you describe it if feels like it is NOT getting fuel? Or is it stumbling like it is getting too much fuel? Does it idle in Park, Drive, Reverse? The more info you can post the better answer or leads you will get to solving your problem.
When driving the IAC does not do anything because the car is not at an idle
I had my "distributor pick-up" replaced. car would just die out, while i was driving.
A serious vacuum leak could cause that.
Check the EGR valve. It sounds like your EGR valve is staying open. An EGR valve that is open at idle will cause a car to stall. An EGR should be closed at idle and open when you are driving around.
Just fixed this, was a loose vacuum line next to intake
It depends on the gearing of the car. If you are in the highest gear and 40mph in that gear is under the idle rpm of that car than you will stall.
intake gasket is leaking
Had a Jeep in the shop here with that problem last week and it turned out to be low fuel pressure. Try running a fuel pressure test. The Jeep would idle ok but when you tried to accelerate the engine would stall.
CHECK COIL PACKS
Water in fuel, May need to change the fuel filter.
My 94 escort was doing the same thing. I replaced the throttle valve assembly and that seems to have done the trick. Hopefully that helps you out.
tough question, but i had a similar problem. it would stall at idle. i had cleaned up my idle air control motor (located on the throttle body) and have not had another problem with it. tough question, but i had a similar problem. it would stall at idle. i had cleaned up my idle air control motor (located on the throttle body) and have not had another problem with it.
