The Ford model T was successful because of many factors but most of all it was inexpensive. When the model T was first introduced it sold for around $850. This compared to other vehicles selling for 2, 3, or 4 times as much. At that time in our history only the rich could afford an automobile. Those automobiles were very complicated and hard to maintain. It almost required you have your own personal mechanic. The model T was simple to build, simple to operate, and easy to repair. Lots of people could afford the price of the early Model T and by the time production ended in the late 20s the price had dropped to $250 which anyone could forward. When production ceased on the Model T Ford had sold over 15 million worldwide and it was the number one selling car in the world.
