I'm the same person who posted, so what has been going on is as follows.
-Weird idle, Starts normal around 1000RPM(I think that's normal), then drops down to around 500-650.
-Sometimes sputters and is sluggish.
- terrible gas mileage.
*Now the maintenance I've done on the truck.
-Replaced Catalytic converter (did nothing)
-Replaced TPS (did nothing).
When the mechanic who ripped me off for the converter pulled the codes, he said it came with a code for throttle position sensor out of range. (I believe that's what it was.)
PLEASE HELP!

its in the valve cover by the brake booster
I believe the 4.0 liter SOHC , V6 engine in a 2011 Ford Ranger is rated at : ( 207 horsepower from the factory )
For a 1994 Ford Ranger , 4.0L V6 engine : The PREFERRED oil is 5W-30 With engine oil filter change ( 5.0 U.S. quarts / 4.7 litres )
the PCV is mounted in the valve cover near the brake booster
are 2wd and 4wd front brake rotors interchangeable on 1997 ranger 4L V6 XLT
i have a 2000 4L 4x4 ranger and my anti theft lights keep on binking on my dash. what i din was when the ignition locked i took a pliers and forced it on forward. after about a month of doing this it eventually freeed up. works fine now.
All 4x4's Ford Expeditions are not AWD... I have a 1998 Ford Expedition XLT and it has (2H/AWD/4L/4H). But, my brother has a 2000 Ford Expediton EB (AWD/4L/4H).
Check the Vehicle Emission Control Information ( VECI ) decal located in the front of the engine compartment ( it will show the type of spark plugs to use and the spark plug gap )
More than likely the solenoid on the transfer case is bad.
firewall 3 - 6 2 - 5 1 - 4 front
IF the system is working correctly, just put the gearshift in Neutral. Press hard on the brake, and turn the switch to 4H or 2WD. The Ranger and most other 4WD's will shift on the fly (in Drive) to 4H (4-wheel High), but require the gearshift to be in Neutral in order to shift out of 4L (4-wheel Low).
