what year model? 2005 are more prone to have a high pressure oil leak than some of the others. normally a dummy plug in the high pressure oil rail. when engine reaches operating temp. the o-rings in the height pressure oil system become more limber when hot and will not seal as well if they are torn, melted or have a problem.
hi have you sorted the problem out yet....its driving me nuts !!! Thanks
The problem is a leak inside the high pressure oil system. When it is hot the leak expands and causes the truck to not start.
There could be a short in the wiring if a 1990 Ford diesel starts and then shuts off after 30 seconds. The short could be a hot short which causes the wiring to get extremely warm and then short out causing the engine to die.
.014/.016 hot
you have a diesel warming light on the dashboard display near the speedo,in the cold turn ignition on,let the warming light go out then count to ten,i have to do this twice to get mine to start on cold mornings, when engine is hot then just wait for the diesel warming light on the dash board to go out and that will do it,takes roughly 3 seconds to go out.
hot wire it
crank no start hot weather1991 Honda accord no start hot . but will start for a second with starting fluid . not getting fuel
There are several reasons why this could be happening. The most common, and simplest reason is that you may need to switch to use Diesel #2 which is best for warmer weather.
Hot wire it. It's fairly simple.
Had the same problem with my old car. Needed a new battery in the end
If it is completely dead, try changing the relay for the starter. Ford has a history of bad Relays that stop working when they get hot. I changed mine and no more problems.
If there is no check engine light illuminated, start with the basics like a good tune up.
