The "venturi effect", a principle used by carburetors, causes a decrease in pressure where the fuel is drawn into the air stream. The pressure decrease can result in ice formation, which seriously affects the way the carburetor functions, and can result in stalling. Throttle body injection is also prone to this problem.
It's more common during rain because of the relatively cool temperature and the high humidity level in the air that's going into the carburetor.
New "production" vehicles have a carburetor de-icing that can pre-heat the air under conditions that may cause ice buildup.
When your car stalls when its raining, it may be getting water in the distributor cap. Make sure the cap is on properly.
You have an ignition problem. Water is shorting out something maybe spark plug wires or distributor. If at night you maybe be even able to see the short if spark plug wires. If you wires are old replace them.
There can be many reasons a car stalls from poor fuel feed to lack of spark. By far, the main reason is poor driving technique.
NO! That is extremely dangerous and you could get electricuted! Just go find a place to stay until it stops raining, or stay in your car, and jump start it when it stopped raining.
your car stalls when u gear down because you geared down too much. your car stalls when u gear down because you geared down too much.
Wait a second, then start it again.
The same way you started it
pancakes you little idiot
If a car engine stalls when turning, there could be a problem with the power steering pump. There could also be an issue with an emissions control device.
Humidity in the air.
If a car stalls when pushing the accelerator, the car may be in park. The car may also be in neutral if the car stalls and does not move. A very dirty fuel filter or a faulty fuel pump could cause that condition also.
When the car stalls out, depending on speeds, you can strip part of your transmission. (Basically break the tranny). Most stalls are stripping and what not when it comes to stalling, also I'm pretty sure you can short out some of the systems inside the vehicle.
