I had the same problem with mine. My regal had been sitting for almost a year. It was the fuel pump. And from what I hear it's very common to lose the fuel pump on these cars if they sit for any length of time. If you do it yourself go ahead and get the manual - it's worth it(and it's about $20). If you're not very experienced with car repair - I wasn't - plan on about 4-5 hours (taking it slow).
You'll know it's the fuel pump if you don't hear the pump whine as it pressures up when you turn the key to the on position.
Have you made sure it has spark?
The starter is at the rear of the engine and bolts to the flywheel housing. There is a cover over it making it hard to see.
bend over and i will show you
yes they will..i have a 1985 buick regal ltd. thers a lil bit of rubbing wen tha wheel is cranked all tha way over...but they fit for tha most part...
I owned a 1994 Buick Regal Grand Sport for years. It came with a 3800 engine and got over 30 mpg interstate driving. Never lacked power and didn't downshift on hills the way the previous 1988 Regal I kept 5 years did. The 1988 Regal average a little over 28 mpg interstate driving with a smaller engine. Both cars were two door models. General Motors made a grave mistake when they quit making these kind of cars. These cars had superior power, great handling and better gas mileage than most foreign cars. They were roomy inside. If GM still build these kind of cars they would be the only makes that I would buy and drive. Jerry Tingle
got spark? crank sensor ignition module timing belt or chain broken cam got compression? blown head gaskets
Start at the battery. Remove and clean all connections. If the battery is over 3 years old you probably need to replace it. Can also be a starter going bad.
i think maybe you over tightened the bolts you are suppose to torque them to specific pressure or pan will warp and not seal right
ER - 1994 Start All Over Again - 8.5 was released on: USA: 25 October 2001
Simple it will turn over but not start.
the tps is bad-throttle positioning sensor
Someone other than myself suggested to get a magnet (capable of lifting 50 lbs.) and run it over the gauge in the direction you wnat it to move.
Try turning the steering wheel either to the right or left while attempting to turn the key
