Maybe there's a short somewhere in the electrical system. Or, that the speakers were installed incorrectly.
the answer is kinda weird but I have found this more than once. Apparently GM did not use good solder when securing the speaker voice coil to the leader wires (small braided wire that connects the terminals to the speaker cone). The solder melts because of high temperature and the wire separates. You may find that they work when it is warm outside sometimes. Anyway get rid of the crappy GM speakers and buy some new ones for the back deck. Your problem will be gone. I suggest maybe a very fine white grille fabric under the speaker grilles. This will reflect the heat in the summer. It probably wont happen with aftermarket cones but it never hurts to be cautious.

no it will not. most grand prix have 3.8l v6 while most luminas have 3.1lv6. the only lumina that has 3.8 is the ltz model. Also most of the 3.8lv6 found in grand prix are supercharged but if it wasn't from the factory then it wont be compatible

Starting with the 1999 GTP Grand Prix, they offered Bose as an optional sound system. On the 1999 GTP, the radio says Delco, and only the front left and right speakers say Bose. I assume it is the same for the 2000 GTP, so if you don't see Bose on the left and right speaker covers, it isn't Bose. It is a very good sound system.

I have a 2000 grand prix gt and all it takes is pulling out the right fuse located in the glove box. There should be a diagram in there that tells you which one it is.
