It was a culture of chaos. A management that was gutless to stand up to the corporate earnings reports, and wall streets greedy bilkers, and didn't have the will to make the hard decisions necessary during those dark days of recession. More money found a trail to place like studio 54, and up accountant noses, than went into innovation for the changing American market. At one point Chrysler's inability to create a viable catalytic converter, that actually functioned almost caused the EPA to throw a wrench in the Chrysler machine.
