The Towncar offers a slightly longer wheelbase(117" vs. 114"), plus air bag suspension in the rear. This, combined, gives it a smoother and "cushier" ride. It also gives the TC a little more leg room in the back seat.

In addition, the TC offers a lot of things as standard that are options on the Crown Vic. A Crown Vic can be upgraded to the point where it's roughly equivalent feature wise to a base-level TC, but it's hard to find a fully loaded CV. At least for the past 10 years, the TC has had standard power everything(doors, windows, mirrors, seats), leather, automatic climate control, and an auto-dimming rear view mirror.

Personally, I'd take a Town Car. If you're buying one more than a few years old, the cost difference between the two isn't that much. The CV is a badly made car, though, and I certainly would turn one down. Another'opinion. I have a 95 town car and I love it. But be aware at some point the rear air suspension will leak, and if not dealt with quickly the compressor might burn out. When the air bags leak I STRONGLY recommend buying a spring conversion kit on the net to convert to coil springs and heavy duty shocks. I did and am VERY pleased with results. Another problem with either is I no of at least 3 trans that needed rebuilds at about 120k. They did not use a sprig gear for 2nd, and it failed. My rebuild at a very reputable shop was $2k, and it n,ow has a sprig setup and works better than ever. I still like the car but a trans may be in your future if you keep it long.

Can you add a supercharger to a Lincoln town car?

Yes you can. Its a simple modification. If you go on you tube there are not many supercharged Lincoln town car videos but there are tons of crown Victoria and marauder video's. The crown Victoria and the town car are practically the same thing. 4.6 LTR. v8 12 valve. I personally have a 2001 town car with a twin screw supercharger. She runs like a top. I simply went to pepboys paid cash and had then install and dyno it.

Can you replace Lincoln Town Car air spring with a coil spring?

Lincoln Town Cars are built on the same platform as the Ford Crown Victoria (the Panther Platform). To convert your Lincoln from air springs to coil springs, simply replace the Lincoln air aprings with the coil springs for a Ford Crown Victoria. (Depending on the ride you want, you can choose to either install the standard coil springs from a civilian-equiped Crown Victoria or you can install the coil springs used on the Police Interceptor version of the Crown Vic.) In addition to the coil springs, you will also need to purchase the rubber insulators to install between the car's frame and the coil spring. Simply remove your Lincoln's air spring system and install the new rubber insulators and coil springs. Many websites have detailed instructions and most "shade tree" mechanics can do the job themselves. The cost of the parts should cost no more than $125.00.

What is a ford crown Victoria?

It was a full-size four-door rear-wheel-drive car made by Ford between 1979 (when it was called the LTD) and 2012. It was also sold, with different trim packages, as the Mercury Grand Marquis and the Lincoln Town Car. The Crown Victoria sold largely to two groups of customers: fleet operators - mainly police and fire departments - and senior citizens. After Chevrolet discontinued the Caprice Classic, the Crown Victoria became America's most popular police car.

In the case of the Bronco and F-Series, naturally, the donor transmission would have to come out of a 2WD vehicle, and not a 4WD one.
