I was looking at the 2004 Mercury Mountaineer Owner Guide and it shows :
In the Power Distribution Box ( which is " live " ) located in the drivers side of the engine compartment :

If there is power to the outlet but nothing works when you plug something in, you can troubleshoot by checking the device you are trying to plug in, trying a different device in the outlet, and inspecting the outlet for any visible damage or issues. If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to consult a professional electrician for further assistance.

A surge protector works by diverting excess voltage from power surges away from electronic devices, preventing damage to them. It acts as a barrier between the device and the electrical outlet, absorbing the extra energy and keeping the device safe.
High frequency transmitter sends energy towards a receiving magnetic coil that picks the energy up.

Fill it up with water and see if it works. If your pump has two wires coming out, unplug them from the outlet take a wire with male plug and connect it back to the power outlet for couple seconds, if pump start working it means your floating switch does not work.
It is the begining of electrial circuit, or where the power comes from, to the end point where it will be used. "Example" circuit breaker panel box has the power, circuit breaker controls the power the cable allows the power to flow to the outlet so when electrical device is plugged in it works.
The purpose of a 30 amp 4 prong to 3 prong adapter is to allow a device with a 3 prong plug to be connected to a 4 prong outlet. It works by converting the 4 prong outlet into a 3 prong outlet, enabling compatibility between the device and the power source.
To test an outlet, use a voltage tester or plug in a device to see if it powers on. If the tester lights up or the device works, the outlet is functioning properly.
