Answer There is not a dipstick on that car. There is a red cap on the top of the trans. Fluid goes in throught that hole. There is a special procedure to check the fluid level that I am not completely certain about.
The car has to be on a lift and level. From underneath there is a small plug that is threaded into the transmission case. With that plug removed, you add ATF into the designated fill opening on top of the trans until fluid comes out that small hole. When fluid comes out the small hole, the trans is full. Replace plug,
The transmission dipstick on a 1994 Pontiac Sunfire is located on the left side of the engine. It connects to the transmission via a long tube which also allows for adding transmission fluid.
Some early model Sunfires have a dipstick. In my '96, the dipstick is located near the firewall, down and inboard from the brake fluid reservoir.
The transmission dipstick is located about 1.5-2ft from the fender on the drivers side, about at the back of the engine, in front of the windsheild/firewall.. it's sometimes yellow, or black. it's also pointing upwards at an angle
There is no dipstick for the transmission. It has a check valve on the side of the pan.
Try under the oil cap, oddly enough.
In the center rear of engine.
The oil dipstick is right up front, center. It is built into the lid covering the oil fill tube. Just unscrew and pull it straight up. The transmission dipstick is located near the firewall, down from the brake master cylinder.
There may or may not be one. Some Sunfires, the earlier ones I think, had them. Later models did not. In my '96, the dipstick is located essentially under the brake fluid reservoir near the firewall. FriPilot
