left side of the block, back of the oil dip stick.
to add transmission fluid, pour it down the tube where the dip stick goes. Not the dip stick for the motor oil, but the transmission fluid. It is located by the fire wall under the hood. I use a funnel attached to a hose to stick in the tube, makes it a whole lot easier.
Most automatic transmissions are serviced by putting the fluid where the dip stick goes. You can get a transmission funnel from any parts store.
try checking transmission fluid. also smell it for burned aroma. that's an expensive problem. fluid stick is located on the passenger side rear right behind oil stick. both are yellow.(on my '03 4.0 inline 6).
I have a 1999 Potiac Grand Am SE, and I cannot find the transmission dip stick to check the transmission fluid.
Look at the gear stick, if its auto then you have an auto transmission, if its manual you have a manual transmission.
I believe it is hidden, near the firewall, just below the transmission dip stick.
The transmission dip stick is located near the oil dip stick. This is in a 1962 Catalina.
A 44 rear axle in a Grand Cherokee has an aluminum center, so if a magnet won't stick to the part that the cover bolts to it is a 44.
Next to the battery
tranny dip stick is located right at back of engine red handle just about center at back Depends on the engine. Some do not have a dip stick and you check it at the transmission. Open the plug and check with finger for fluid.
Its a sealed transmission so there is no dipstick.
