Depends on the size of the motor ..more info retaining that would be helpful ,but i will give it a shot ..If its the 3.1 litre 6 cylinder engine ,it is located on the drivers side of the engine.On the lower half of the intake manifold under the air horn that the air cleaner tube hooks to .It is located behind the thermostat housing that the upper radiator hose is hooked to....If its the 2.4 litre 4 cylinder engine, its located inside the radiator outlet pipe that hooks to the rear of the water pump at the passenger side rear of the engine. Either of the engines are hard to change and takes around 2 hours to replace.

Depends on what size engine you have, and what year of Grand Am you have. Mine is a 1996 with a 2.4L engine. So my thermostat is located in the bottom radiator hose, where it goes into the water pump.
