The thermostat comes in a housing that bolts directly to the motor, and is located on the driver's side of the motor, about 1/2 way from the top, & towards the front of the engine. To remove/replace it you need a socket wrench & a 3 to 6 inch extension. You will have to remove the alternator and serpentine belt to get to it. This is where the thermostat is located on the trailblazer for years 2002 to 2004.
The thermostat is located below the alternator on the drivers side. The coolant sensor is right above the thermostat.
The thermostat, on a 2005 Chevrolet trailblazer, can be replaced by first removing the water hose. Next, remove the three housing bolts. Take the thermostat out and replace with a new thermostat.
It is located on the left side of the engine (6cyl) next to the thermostat, in order to replace both thermostat or sensor the alternator needs to be removed
