I belive you may be asking where the crankshaft positoning sensor is, if so is is located behind the harmonic balancer. NEW ANSWER: That is true if it is a V6 engine, But if it is A V8 Then it is behind the starter.

it will either be on the front of the engine bolted to the block right near the damper pulley. if not the it is in the bell housing on the back of the engine. NEW ANSWER: On all V8 engine 2000 and up, It will be behind the starter. On V6 engines it is on the timing cover behind balancer. NEUTZ
