Yes it has an oil pressure sending unit next to the distributor.
The 1997 Dodge Dakota oil sending unit is in the oil pan, on the bottom of the engine. You will need to remove the oil pan in order to view the sending unit.
The oil sending unit is located slightly lower than the distributor on the engine block.
