2001 cavaliers have R134A systems and they have special port connections that only fit r134a guage sets. The low side port and the high side port have quick disconnect fittings that are different sizes so you can't hook them up wrong or backwards. The cavaliers also have color coded caps on the a/c ports to help you out. The low side is blue and the high side is red. The low side port is on the top of the engine right by the passenger side shock tower. The high side port is just behind the radiator near the top on the passenger side.
