If you purchase freon from store (Walmart) it will have instructions on how to re-charge the system. Also the connection on the bottle will only fit on one or the other connections within the aluminum hoses going into the firewall. Its very simple to do.

Connect a freon gauge and can to the low side AC port. Start the car and turn the AC on high. Open the freon valve and fill the system to full on the gauge reading.
On the aluminum end part of the suction side hose, this will be the larger hose.........
Look at the rear or side of the oil pan
Behind the fuse panel that is on the drivers side of the dash.
Always to the low pressure side. The low pressure side fitting is normally near the dryer ( large silver canister).
The intake temperature sensor is located on the side of the air filter case on a 2003 Chevy Silverado 4.3 1500. It is on the top of the engine.
The 2003 Chevrolet Silverado turn signal switch is located below the dashboard, on the drivers side of the passenger compartment. The turn signal switch simply plugs in and out.
The low pressure side is located on the compressor. To locate the port, jack up the driver side and crawl underneath to locate the compressor. Add the freon to the port on the compressor.
