I believe the jack and lug nut wrench are stowed behind the passenger seat If you have the extended cab with jump seats, they are behind the passanger side jump seat (fold down the jump seat back).
Anywhere on the frame. On the rear, use the axle. In the front, there are tabs designed for your jack and they can be seen in front of the axle.
On a regular cab Ford Ranger, the Jack and lug wrench are behind the passenger seat bolted to the floor.
You can buy a jack at the ford dealer or u can go to a junk yard
It should be in the same compartment as the jack - behind the seat. Agreed. I have a '97 Ford Ranger. The jack and jack handle are in a compartment behind the passenger seat.
If it's not in a spot, which is really convenient to the spare, or new tire, then just keep it stowed in the back.
Behind the seat. It may have a cover over it.
under hood - pass. side - near front -
http://www.motorcraftservice.com/pubs/content/~WOTEXP/~MUS~LEN/41/96expog1e.pdf The jack is stowed behind the driver's side, rear quarter trim panel. Remove the quarter trim panel cover to get to it. The lug nut wrench is attached to the inside of the quarter trim panel cover. Stowed along with the jack is a jacking/tire changing instruction sheet and a pair of tire changing gloves. The jack handle is stowed behind the second row passenger seats under the carpet (fold the seats down to get under the carpeted flap). Assemble handle sections and lug wrench together.
In my 03 ranger it is behind the seats in the side compartment, the bottom panel just pops out and theres a small compartment.
under hood in front of radiator
Look behind the seat (not sure if driver's side or passenger side on your model). The jack will be contained within a removable cover/panel.
