I'm not a mechanic / technician but on a Ford Crown Victoria the engine cylinder locations are numbered :
firewall
4 - 8
3 - 7
2 - 6
1 - 5
front of vehicle
So I ASSUME it would be :
firewall
d - h
c - g
b - f
a - e
front of vehicle
8 -------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have a 1998 or newer Ford Crown Victoria that has the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P.) ignition system there are ( 8 ignition coils ) as mentioned above Before that the 4.6 liter in a Ford Crown Victoria had ( 2 coil packs )
On a 1995 Ford Crown Victoria : There is no distributor , it has an Electronic Distributorless Ignition System ( EDIS ) with ( 2 ) ignition coil packs that have four towers on each where the spark plug wires connect
It has what is called coil on plug style ignition sys. Each spark plug has its own individual coil right on top of the plug.
my 1985 ford crown Victoria ignition has locked up! what do i do?
firewall 4 - 8 3 - 7 2 - 6 1 - 5 front ( assuming you have the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system )
The Coil On Plug ignition system uses ( 8 ) individual coils on the 8 spark plugs on your 2002 Ford Crown Victoria firewall 4 - 8 3 - 7 2 - 6 1 - 5 front of Crown Victoria
EDIS , stands for Electronic Distributorless Ignition System That would be the ( 2 ) coil packs with spark plug wires on a 1996 Ford Crown Victoria that is part of the EDIS
Yes.
Actually it doesn't have a distributor or distributor cap The 2001 Ford Crown Victoria has the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system with ( 8 ) individual coils
On a ( 1998 ) Ford Crown Victoria : It has the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system with ( 8 ) individual coils The engine cylinder locations are numbered : firewall 4 - 8 3 - 7 2 - 6 1 - 5 front of vehicle
For a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria : 1 - 3 - 7 - 2 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 8 It has the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system with ( 8 ) individual coils The engine cylinder locations are numbered : firewall 4 - 8 3 - 7 2 - 6 1 - 5 front of Ford Crown Victoria ( V8 )
Have you checked the coil to start with ?
