Neither will my tailgate, not sure if it's a fuse or what? Did you ever get yoru tailgate to open? for myself i just bought my rendez vous and all i have is a remote to open the tailgate,if ever i lose that remote im in deep trouble because there no switch or nothing to open it ;-(
It is located underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column. There is another fuse box under the hood on the drivers side near the window.

The window fuse for the Lincoln Aviator will be located in the engine compartment fuse box. These fuses are rated at 15 amps, and the stock fuse box cover will have a diagram placed on it labeling each fuse.
Check the switch to see if anything is stuck in it. If the switch is otherwise fine, it is a problem with the electrical system. Open the fuse box and locate the fuse for the tailgate switch. Replace the fuse and try again.
I can't remember, but the most common cause of failure is the switch on the tailgate, not the fuse.
