The 1973 Mustang has a mechanical fuel pump driven by the engine. It is not electric so it has no fuse.
On a 1999 Ford Mustang : In the Power distribution box ( which is " live " ) located in the engine compartment ( # 14 is a 20 amp mini fuse for the fuel pump )
According to the 2005 Ford Mustang Owner Guide : In the Power Distribution Box ( which is " live " ) located in the engine compartment ( mini fuse # 41 is a 15 amp fuse for the fuel pump )

i just changed my fuel pump and it has not blown the fuse so i would say that it can cause the fuse to blow
