I have a 1999 Chevy metro and I am in the process of replacing the fuel filter right now. You have to drop the gas tank and pull out the fuel pump (large circular part) and you will find the filter at the bottom of the pump. be sure you get the correct filter cuz I was sold the incorrect one. It shoud have a virtually flat elbow connection tube, not elevated like the one I bought.
Fuel filter is located by the fuel tank, near the frame. I first thought it never had one, but I took it too my trustworthy mechanic in which found it and I got the part from Partsource and he installed it.
