some 1997 mountaineers didn't come with the dpfe sensor, you will have to look at the egr positioning sensor which is right on top of the egr valve itself . hope that helps
The DPFE sensor is located in the center of the vehicle near the firewall. It is easiest to see and replace if you remove the plastic cover on top of the engine.
I'm not aware that part was installed on Villagers. It would be on the EGR valve if it was.
From what I understand , it is the sensor that the Powertrain Control Module uses to determine exactly how much the EGR valve opens at all driving conditions
At the rear of the engine, behind the throttle body, close to the EGR valve area, slightly toward the passenger's side of the vehicle. You can see the top of the DPFE while standing in front of the vehicle with the hood up, if you know what you are looking for.
According to my Haynes repair manual, the Differential Pressure Feedback EGR sensor (DPFE) monitors upstream (before) and downstream (after) exhaust backpressure. By calculating the difference between the two pressures, the powertrain control module (PCM) determines exactly the EGR flow rate at all driving conditions.
Ford is the only American car company that uses a DPFE sensor. GM dpfe sensor are built into the EGR.
I believe the DPFE sensor is at the back of the 5.0 L by the throttle body
where is the DPFE sensor located on a 2002 ford crown victoria?
I dont believe the Impala 2003 uses a DPFE sensor as part of there Emissions system.
it is on the engine manifold, on the right side of the engine a little ways down. I had to change mine not to long ago. look for two small black hoses connecting to it.
YES - www.motorcraft.com lists a DPFE sensor for all available engines on a 1996 Ford Ranger
