The Chevy lumina does not have an inertia switch.
You pull back on the turn signal switch. If that doesn't work then you may have a bad dimmer switch.
Chevy does not use inertia switches.

IT IS LOCATED UNDER THE PLASTIC STEERING COLUMN COVER NEXT TO THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH
The problem is most likely in the dimmer switch. Un plug the wire to the bulb and test for voltage with the dimmer switch in the hi beam position. If no voltage, the dimmer switch is faulty. thank you do you know where the dimmer switch is located and how do i go about getting to it is it hard to replace also how do i go about checking the voltage

The instruments light dim for night driving when the headlights are turned on. Check to insure that your dash dimmer switch is on high. If it is, then you have a problem with either the dimmer switch or the wiring.
It is located wherever you installed it when you did the safety modifications to prepare your Lumina for racing.
