No check engine light. Multiple posts on different sites indicated the CPS as the cause. Purchased sensor from Saturn dealer for ~$100 and installed. Installation very simple. Sensor is located just under the oil filter housing on the front of the engine block. Very accessible from front of car without jacking or ramps. Sensor is held in by 1 male torx screw. Good luck!

The 2003 Saturn L200 has a camshaft position sensor. It is located on the bottom front of engine behind the Starter. You will need to remove the two bolts that are holding the Starter to get to the sensor.
