Sedan
Back left-hand corner of the trunk.
The black lid lifts up from the top/back edge (that part confused me for a while.)
The wiring is back there for any CD player as well since there was no room in dash.
Wagon
In the right rear cargo area in the storage well, beneath the fuel pump switch
i just found out about 5 minutes ago from another website. I'll post the link in a sec.
basically, it's in the trunk. there are two clips you remove that are inside it on the driver's side. one is near the tailight, and the other is to the side near the wheel well. once you take em off, just pull the carpeting down, and you'll find the stereo unit mounted to the wheel well itself. you can unscrew it and unhook the wiring to take it off and out.
If your vehicle is equipped with a factory CD player it could be in one of two places depending on the model of your sable. It could be under the passenger side seat, or it could be in the trunk mounted under the ceiling of the trunk opening.
It may be located in car's trunk.
The CD changer is located in the trunk - back, left-hand corner.
The lid lifts up from the top and pivots towards you. Slide the cover to the right and push the button to eject the cartridge.
It's located in the left corner of your trunk, above the wheels. Behind upholstery.
if is a six disc changer it is in the trunk on driver side but that car has a button for CD although your car may not have come with a CD player. the button is there so you can add one later
The 1998 Sable / Taurus CD changer is located in the trunk - back left-hand corner.
The cover tilts up from the top-rear edge to expose the CD cartridge.
If it has one, it will be in the trunk against the driver's side fender. It will be a six-disc CD changer which will load with a casette from the top. It will also have a compartment that will hold six CD jewel cases.
It may not have one. All of them have the "CD" button on the control panel in the car. If you press this button and get a "NO DJ" message, then your vehicle is not equipped with a CD player. It can, however, still have one added if you feel so inclined. This is fairly easy to do. Just make sure that you get one that's compatible with the Taurus's changer controls. Junk yards are a good place to get this fairly cheap.
On my 2000 Mercury Sable LS, the CD cahnger is inside the arm rest compartment, which is very convenient place for it but it reduced the storage space for a couple of candy bars.
The CD changer is located in a small box in the trunk. Some cars have the CD controller but not the CD changer. It was likely an expensive add on at the dealer.
A lot of lx's don't have CD players, they just have a piece of plastic that says "Taurus" where it should be. If you know it does in fact have a CD changer, it will be in the trunk or in the center console.
The 2003 Ford Taurus Owner Guide shows : The CD changer is either in the trunk , console , or the right side cargo area storage compartment
I would say that you don't have one. The radios are generic they can be used with or w/o CD changers. It is just the difference on the CD changer remote wire running to the back of the radio. There are only a few places that would be located. Trunk, glove box, middle console, or underneath one the seats. These are really the only places that the factory puts them. Hope this helps.AnswerIn the 1998 Sable - Taurus, the CD changer is in the back left corner of the trunk. In the wagon, the changer is over on the other side on the right.See "Related Questions" below for more about Taurus - Sable radios
It is in the far back on the passenger side by the door.
EBay or grab and go in spencer
For a 1999 Mercury Sable wagon : I believe you will find the six disc CD changer ( if equipped ) in the cargo area behind the panel for the storage compartment / service compartment on the right side
If you have a center console, that is where you will find it. If there is no center console it is in the trunk.
Yes, the cd-changer was an option - and found in the left rear corner of the trunk. See "Related Questions" below for more
According to the 1999 Mercury Sable Owner Guide : The 6 disc CD changer is in the trunk ( or if it is a wagon , the passenger side storage compartment in the cargo area )
