The sending unit on a 351 Windsor may be located in a couple places. One is behind the housing in the intake, another spot is above the oil filter, and a third is by the thermostat.
I have a 94 e150 w/351 or 5.8 liter and the sending unit is found on the lower right front of the engine facing the engine.
