it is on the vehicles intake box you will need to go to a parts store to buy a Ford tamper proof hex set to remove it make sure when you are replacing it that you replace the rubber o-ring that's around the inside of the sensor unless you have a v-6 model then it is part of the intake box and all you need is a screwdriver to releave the rubber hoses attached to it
could be a number of things first tap on your mass air flow sensor while it is idling and if it lines out change it. or it could be your IAC (intake air control)
The mass airflow sensor would be between the engine air filter and the big engine air intake tube
on top of heater housing
it is behind the air filter box, before the curved duct that carries air to the throttle body.
