This function is disabled if the slide switch is in the MIN position. The slide switch controls how long the lights will stay on after you turn off your engine. This will range up to three minutes in the MAX position.
Twilight Sentinel was introduced in the 60's by GM. It automatically turns on headlamps in low light conditions such as dark parking garages and at dusk, turning them off when it senses daylight. Newer versions are connected to the RainSense automatic windshield wipers and will automatically turn on the headlamps when the wipers are on (now a law in some states) The twilight sentinel is a slide switch that lets you control how long your headlights will stay on after you turn the engine off. This allows you to have lights while you are getting out of the car. This is useful if you park in a dark garage and avoids stumbling around.
To turn off the Twilight Sentinel feature in your car, locate the headlight switch on your dashboard and set it to the "Off" position. This will disable the automatic headlight activation and this feature in some vehicles may require adjusting the settings in the vehicle's infotainment system or light control module. You may also refer to the owner's manual for specific instructions for your vehicle model.
