There are three three service ports. The easiest to find is to the front and right of the engine, sort of toward the right side of the radiator, sitting atop a stout metal tube. There is a small plastic cap that when removed will reveal a valve that looks like the valve stem on a bicycle inner tube. The second one can't be seen directly. You must remove the long plastic vent that leads to the air filter. The vent is about a foot long, and there is a hose attached to it. It is pretty easy to remove the vent, since the vent is only attached to the air filter box with plastic tabs. You will see another valve back behind it, very close to the fire wall. The third can be accessed from inside the van. You will have to remove the interior engine cover--that big plastic hump of a cover that connects to the dashboard. With that removed, you well above the left spark plug wires. You will see another valve that looks like those found on bicycle inner tubes. Keep in mind the 1990 Econoline a/c uses freon, which is not virtually unavailable. I was able to get a partial charge and then top is up with R-134a. You'll have to buy the adapters for the a/c valves at Auto Zone for about $12.
