Stop light. Third brake light, or center high mounted stop light (CHMSL).
bad brake light switch
brake
Hit it with a sledge hammer
Possible problems are: faulty or poorly-adjusted brake light switch, faulty turn signal switch, dirty or corroded electrical connection, disconnected or damaged brake light wires or even burned out bulbs.
Could be a bad stop light bulb in rear (both filaments touching) causing a backfeed. Could be a bad ground and system is searching for ground through path of least resistance
On mine, when the lights are off, the left brake light is faint but still works. When the lights are one, the running light is on (faint) but goes out when I hit the brakes. And the turn signal doesnt ever work. When Ive checked the light bulbs they burn out fast. I have been told that replacing the plastic bulb housing will fix this. But I have not tried it yet.
bulb is out The bulb has two elements in it, one for the tail light and one for the brake. The brake one is also for the directional signals.
With the car off you will need to:1. (without putting your foot on the brake) hit the start button twice.. Then2. Hit the odometer stem to make it go to trip a (where the odometer reads.)3. Turn the car back off and then hold in the odo pegand4. Hit the start button twice again ( without your foot on the brake) and it will reset.
With a big hammer. hit it on the edge
with the park lights on both left and right side are lite. but when the brake is applied the right brake lights up and the left goes out(doesn't light up)
I assume you mean rear drum brakes. Back the car up getting up a little speed and hit the brakes fairly hard without locking up. Do this several times and the rear brake will self adjust.
