try using a lighter weight oil. Under no load the engine seems to run fine, because it has enough oil on the cylinder walls for no loadd. When load is applied it needs more lubrication, which isn't possible because the oil is cold. Like the consistency of cold syrup. When you warm syrup its easier to spread.
