I don't know for sure but on some fords if the fuse for the brake lights is burnt out it will not shift from park. On fords if you turn key part way to on position then shift to neutral and start engine. Do not use park till you get fuse replaced. Mine blew because of bad trailer light harness. Sorry if this does not work on chevy.
My first stop would be the dealership. If you do not want to do that you could go to chevy.com to check out the Chevy Suburban. They would have all the info you need to make your decision.
i have a 1996 Chevy suburban with 226,000 miles on it and it runs great so you make that decision
It will fit, But it won't WORK. The 1999 transmission is electronic and requires a computer and speed sensors to make it shift right. You need one from 1987 down.
U-joint is the first place to look. Second would be worn ring and pinion gear.
That is True.. A faulty speed sensor will cause no shift or late shift..
Zubie make her dance!
I would get a hold of Summit Racing, in Sparks, Nv. One of the companies that make aftermarket shifters, Hurst, B&M, ect., will make something.
yes....... you may need to make modifications to the elcamnio
with a C clam , make sure the you use sameting to protec the piston
you can check the recall at www.autoweb.com. all you have to do is put in your vehicles information...make model year.
Remove the overload spring.
If you are replacing make sure that you bench bleed prior to installation
