engine must be running Very poorly, no fire in the cyclinders = gas out the tail pipe usually, meaning, bad wires, bad plugs, bad ignition...one of the above, get tune up, or scope the car at a garage to find problem, sometimes air sensor is why, many problems can casue it, best to pin it down with the computer you hook into car for diagnostics.
Black smoke usually means the engine is running too rich. The fuel/air mixture is incorrect. Blue smoke is oil burning.
Yes
with me it was the o2 censer
bad head gasket
The vacuum lines for a 2000 Cavalier are located all over the engine bay and under the dash. A break in any line can cause rough running.
Low fuel pressure
In my experience with my Chevy it was a ground wire
have you checked your fuses?
I doubt that running out of gas will my the low trac light come on. I own an 02 Cavalier, and the trac light has to do with the amount of traction you have on any given surface. If you know a mechanic I would have them check it out.
sounds like the ignition control module
Bad heater core.
The 2005 Cavalier could have a fuel leak. Have the entire fuel system checked, as a fuel leak can cause a dangerous fire.
