They are the names of lunar modules, the part of the Apollo spacecraft which actually landed on the moon. The lower sections remained on the lunar surface. The upper parts took the astronauts back up to rendezvous with the service and command modules which had orbited the moon with one astronaut. Eagle was the first LM to land , while Challenger was the last.
