The Ford Model T (colloquially known as the Tin Lizzie and the Flivver) was an automobile produced by Henry Ford's Ford Motor Company from 1908 through 1927. It is generally regarded as the first affordable automobile, the car which "put America on wheels"; this was due to some of Ford's innovations, including assembly line production instead of individual hand crafting, as well as the concept of paying the workers a wage proportionate to the cost of the car, so that they would provide a ready made market. The first production Model T was built on September 27, 1908 at the Piquette Plant in Detroit, Michigan. The designation Ford Model B, like Ford Model A, was actually used for two different automobiles. The first was produced in 1904-05 and is among the earliest Ford Motor Company products. The second Model B was an improvement of the second Model A and entered production for the 1932 model year. Strictly speaking the Model B was a four-cylinder car, but it was at this time that Ford began producing a very similar car with Ford's new Flathead V8 engine. The V8 car was marketed as a Model 18, though it is commonly called the Ford V-8 today, and was virtually indistinguishable from the Model B. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When i tell people this is a B-Ford engine, They always ask whats the difference is between an A and a B Ford engine. Well here it goes> The 1932 V-8 was introduced as the 'Ford Model 18.' The four cylinder model was designated the 'Model B.' Although the V-8 was a national sensation and sold very well, there were many four cylinder Model B's produced. Compression of the Model B engine was 4.8; the A was 4.2. The Model B engine produced 50 hp at 2800 rpm; the A produced 40 hp at 2200 rpm. The Model 'B' mains were 2" diameter; mains in the 'A' were 1-5/8". 'B' rods were 1-7/8"; A rods were 1-1/2". The 'B' camshaft provided an increase in valve timing duration which contributed to the 50 hp at 2800 rpm. A diaphragm type fuel pump was mounted to the lower right side of the engine block. The water pump mounted with three bolts instead of four. The oil pump forced oil directly to the main bearings under mild pressure. Along with other valve chamber modifications, the oil return pipe was eliminated. Model 'C;' The 1932-34 Ford four cylinder engine has been unofficially dubbed the Model 'C.' This designation cannot be found in Ford literature or correspondence. It is strictly a user connotation. Changes from the 'B' to the 'C' engine includeed: a crank shaft employing integrally forged counterbalances, a shortened three bolt water water pump housing and a 39 pound flywheel compared to a 62-1/2 pound flywheel provided with the Model 'A.' (The counterbalances make up the difference.) There were 263,765 Model 'B' (and 'C') engines produced between March 9, 1932 and late 1934
Henry Ford's first Model A was sold in 1903. That was followed by Ford's Model B in 1905.Henry's second Model A was produced from 1928-1931. This too was followed by the Model B in 1932.Model B
don't be silly
If you are only asking about Ford vehicles, that would be the Ford Model "B" that came out in 1932. The above answer is correct but in addition Ford built 2 different cars that were both called Model A & Model B. The first Model A was built in 1903-04. It was the first car built by Ford Motor company. Henry Ford did build other cars before this one but Ford Motor Company did not exist at that time. The first Model A was followed by the Model B. Ford then again built the Model A in 1928 which was followed by the second Model B.

They were totally different vehicles. The Model A had twice the power, used convention drive controls as you see on today's vehicles and was nothing like the Model T. You can find out more by clicking the link. The model A was the first car Henry Ford put into production. After that he used the next letter of the alphabet for each model he created. Model B, C, D, ect. The model T was the car he was able to mass produce and sell for price most could afford. His son Edsel Ford designed the restyled 1928 Ford. Since automakers were not using name for there product yet Edsel Ford decided to start with the first letter of the alphabet again. In 1928 Ford reintroduced the Model A again. As a result of his decision Ford produced 2 Model A's. The first in 1903 to 1904 and the second from 1928 to 1930.
