Large Allen wrench to take two bolts out from inside of brake. This allows the brake pads to come out with the top of the caliper. Inside pad snaps in, outside pad has catches that fit in holes in the caliper. Large spring should be reconnected after bolts are snugged. Quite simple once you've taken a look at it.
For the front I believe a 15/16 socket will work. The rear I used a 7mm Allen wrench
What size are the rear caliper pins on a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan?
I Just replaced the front brake pads on my 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. I also ran into an issue with removing the bolts that hold the calipers on. None of the Allen wrenches I had seemed to fit. According to the guys at the auto parts store, the factory calipers are supposed to be bolted on using a T40 Torx but, they are not. I went to the dodge dealer and spoke to a mechanic. The bolts are actually 7mm hex. I went and bought a 7mm hex driver and it fit perfectly. You will also need to pop of the metal bracket that holds the caliper in place on the front of the roter.
The piston in the rear caliper on the 2008 Grand Caravan is the "screw in" type. A special tool is required to do the job.
caliper bolts are the two bolts that hold a brake caliper to the caliper mounting bracket. On both the front and rear of the vehicle (unless has rear drum brakes) the bolts have rubber boots around them working as slide pins.
Remove brake caliper and then caliper mounting frame . Rotor is now free.
what size allen wrench do i need to change front brakes on a 2004 dodge grand caravan
Use a screwdriver between caliper and front of piston to squeeze piston back, remove caliper via two bolts on rear inside of caliper. Slide caliper away from rotor and support to ensure you don't damage the hyd. hose. Remove pads from caliper, fit new ones same way. re-fit caliper.
