According to the wiring diagram that i have - there is no specific fuse for the Vehicle speed sensor. There are 2 wires coming out of the vehicle speed sensor, one is Yellow and one is Purple. They both go to the powertrain control module. (which is located on the left side of the steering column under the dash.)
The Yellow wire coming out of the vehicle speed sensor is number 64 on the PCM and is listed as VSS Hi(signal). The Purple wire coming out of the vehicle speed sensor is number 65 on the PCM and is listed as VSS Lo(ground).
If the Transmission Speed Sensor is bad you should set a diagnostic trouble code and the speedometer will not work.
Odometer is usually controlled by the speed sensor not a fuse . In most vehicles it is sticking out the side of the transmission
Yes there is, its in your fuse box, in the slot that says Speed Sensor.
The fuse for the cruise control on a 1998 Nissan Sentra is at the Number 22 spot in the fuse box. This is a 10 Amp. fuse that also controls the horn and steering switch. if the horn still works, check the speed sensor on the transmission or the cruise control module on the carburetor.
The 1998 Toyota Avalon oxygen sensor fuse can be found in the fuse box. The oxygen sensor fuse will be the number 17 fuse.
The Main Shaft Speed Sensor is also known as a NM speed sensor. This sensor is mounted on the front passenger side of the transmission facing the radiator. It is basically a magnet that helps control how soft or firm the transmission shifts. If your transmission shifts hard or with a jerk, then chances are you NM sensor is either dirty or has gone bad. Remove the NM (main shaft) speed sensor by unplugging the wiring connector and loosening the 10mm bolt on the transmission. Twist the actual sensor back and forth while sliding it out of the transmission. Once out, take a rag and see if it is dirty--it is a magnet and sometimes metal or other debris can get in the way and make it not work. Clean the NM sensor, blot it back in, plug in the connector. Take the negative terminal off the battery, remove the radio (backup) fuse from the under hood fuse panel. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes, then reinstall fuses and connect battery. Start it up. If there is still a hard jerk when shifting, it's time for a new NM speed sensor.
The speed sensor is in the transmission, rear section, held in place by one bolt, will have a wire harness/connecter attached..check your fuse 1st
The odometer gets its signal from the speed sensor, so if the (tailshaft) speed sensor is bad then the odometer obviously will not work
A signal from the range sensor inside the transmission is passed from the transmission computer to the under hood fuse box. It turns the lights on.A signal from the range sensor inside the transmission is passed from the transmission computer to the under hood fuse box. It turns the lights on.

If the Ford Galaxy cruise control is not working properly, check the speed sensor on the transmission. It is located just behind the bell housing. There is also a fuse that can be checked in the fuse box on top of the battery.
The number 7 fuse is for the back up lights on a 2000 WV Golf. This fuse also runs the speedometer and vehicle speed sensor.
I believe the fuse that protects the speedometer also protects all the gauges in the dash cluster, so if that fuse was burned out all the gauges would be dead. If only the speedometer is not working I would suspect the speed sensor in the transmission to at fault, if the wiring checks okay.
