AnswerOn my 1993 Jeep Cherokee Sport, with the AUTOMATIC transmission, I add it directly to the dipstick hole where you check the transmission fluid level. (The dipstick is near the back of the engine.) Use a funnel to add the fluid to the dipstick hole. Check the fluid level when the vehicle is at normal hot running temperature, idling in PARK. Don't overfill! It will only take about a pint (half a quart) of fluid to raise the level from "ADD" to "FULL". Add a bit at a time and recheck the level. Overfilling can cause foaming and loss of fluid.Finally, the 1993 Jeep Cherokee Sport is known to have a problem with fluid leak from the speed sensor on the transmission. So one has to add transmission fluid more frequently than normal.
